Welcome to our project Inspiring Women! 🌸

Acest proiect își propune să descopere poveștile femeilor care ne inspiră, să învățăm despre realizările lor și să împărtășim experiențe din diferite țări.
This project aims to discover stories of women who inspire us, learn about their achievements, and share experiences from different countries.

Fiecare femeie are o poveste care merită ascultată. Hai să descoperim împreună aceste povești! 🌍

ACTIVITY PLAN & TIMELINE

🔹 Week 1: Introduction & Project Planning

📅 Dates: 26 January– 8 February 2026

Activities:
Teachers create a shared Google Sheet.
Each teacher introduces themselves (country, school).
Teachers add their participating students including:
Student name
Age
English level (A1–A2–B1)
In the same table, teachers collaboratively write the weekly project plan.

🔹 Week 2: Intro Activity – “Inspired by Her”

📅 Dates: 9 February – 15 February 2026

Activities:
Students choose one inspiring woman (famous or not).
Students write sentences explaining why this woman inspires them.
Students may add a picture or a keyword describing her.

Tools: Padlet / Canva / Word document
Outcome:
Students’ short texts and visuals
Padlet link or documents uploaded to TwinSpace

🔹 Week 3: Ebook Writing Activity

📅 Dates: 16 February – 22 February 2026

Activities:
Each student prepares one short page for the collaborative ebook including:
Name of the inspiring woman
Short biography 
Why she inspires me 
Student name & country
Teachers collect students’ texts and check language level suitability.

Tools: Word / Google Docs
Outcome:
Final student texts ready for ebook creation
Uploaded drafts to TwinSpace

🔹 Week 4: Ebook Creation & Final Reflection

📅 Dates: 23 February – 1 March 2026

Activities:
Teachers combine all student pages and create a collaborative ebook.
Ebook design is completed using Canva / PDF format.
Students write one short reflection sentence about what they learned from the project.

Ecaterina Teodoroiu 


Ecaterina Teodoroiu(1894-1917) was a Romanian national heroine of World War I. At first, she worked as a nurse, helping wounded soldiers. Later, she decided to fight and joined the Romanian Army. She showed great courage and leadership on the battlefield and died fighting for her country in 1917. She is remembered as a symbol of bravery and patriotism.

Ecaterina Teodoroiu inspires me because she was very brave and determined. She did not give up, even when the situation was difficult. She chose to fight for her country and showed great courage. Her sacrifice teaches us to be strong, loyal, and to stand up for what we believe in.

Maria Tănase  



Maria Tănase(1913-1963) was a famous Romanian folk singer, born in 1913 in Bucharest. Known as “the voice of România”, she made Romanian traditional music popular in Romania and abroad. She died in 1963, but remains one of the most important Romanian artists.

She inspires me because her music is very emotional and honest. Maria Tănase loved românian traditions and wanted people to know them. She worked hard and followed her dream. Her life and music show passion, courage, and love for her country.

Ana Blandiana 



Ana Blandiana is a famous Romanian poet, essayist, and writer, known for her contributions to literature and her role in promoting human rights. She was born on March 25, 1942.

Ana Blandiana inspires me because she is brave, creative, and uses her words to fight for freedom and truth.Keyword : freedom

   Simona Halep



Simona Halep is a Romanian former professional tennis player, born on September 27, 1991, in Constanța. She became world No. 1 and won two Grand Slam titles: the French Open (2018) and Wimbledon (2019).


She inspires me through her hard work, determination, and perseverance, showing that dedication and confidence can lead to success even when challenges seem overwhelming.

Sarmiza Bilcescu 

Alimănișteanu

Sarmiza Bilcescu-Alimănișteanu  (1867-1935) was a Romanian lawyer, feminist, and pioneer. She became the first woman in the world to earn a PhD in Law (1890) from the University of Paris. A trailblazer for women's rights in Romania, she was also the first female lawyer in Europe.

She inspires because she broke barriers in a male-dominated field, paving the way for future generations of women in law and beyond. Her determination to pursue education and a career despite societal norms is truly empowering.

Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu



Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu (1887–1973) was one of the first female engineers in the world. Born in Galați, Romania, she studied engineering in Berlin despite discrimination. She worked at the Geological Institute of Romania and contributed to geological and petroleum research.


Elisa Leonida Zamfirescu inspires me because she did not give up when people told her she could not become an engineer. She followed her passion, worked hard, and proved that women can succeed in science and engineering. Her courage and determination motivate me to believe in myself and to follow my dreams, even when it is difficult.

Nadia Comaneci

       (1961-      )



Nadia Comăneci is a Romanian former gymnast who made history at the 1976 Olympics by scoring the first perfect 10. She won five Olympic medals and is considered one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

Nadia Comăneci inspires me because she shows me that through hard work, discipline, and perseverance I can push beyond my limits. The fact that she achieved so much at such a young age motivates me to believe in myself and not give up when things get difficult. Her story gives me the courage to strive for excellence and work consistently toward my goals.

Ana Aslan 

Ana Aslan (1897–1988) was a Romanian biologist and physician renowned for her pioneering work in gerontology and geriatrics. She is best known for developing Gerovital, a drug intended to combat the effects of aging. Ana Aslan was director of the National Institute of Geriatrics and Gerontology in Bucharest from 1958 until her death in 1988.

Ana Aslan inspires me because she created the first institute in the world dedicated to the treatment and study of aging in, this way she set an example for me that with ambition and work, nothing is impossible.

Alice Voinescu 

Alice Voinescu(1885-1961) was a Romanian philosopher and university professor. She studied in Romania, Germany, and France and became the first Romanian woman to earn a PhD in Philosophy at the Sorbonne. She contributed greatly to Romanian culture.

She inspires me because she believed in education and worked hard to achieve her goals. She broke barriers for women and showed that determination and knowledge can change society.

Queen Marie of România 



Queen Marie of România (1875–1938)Queen Marie was the wife of King Ferdinand I and one of Romania’s most influential royal figures. Born a British princess, she became a strong supporter of România during World War I and played an important diplomatic role at the Paris Peace Conference (1919). She was admired for her courage, charisma, and cultural influence, and she helped promote Romanian identity and international recognition.


My impression is that Queen Marie was an intelligent and courageous leader who deeply loved România. She played an important role during World War I and helped unite the country. Through her diplomacy and strong personality, she represented România with pride and gained international respect.

Repere Feminine în Istoria României

📖 Descriere:

Lucrarea de față valorifică modele feminine care au contribuit semnificativ la dezvoltarea culturală, științifică și socială a României. Prin realizările lor, aceste personalități rămân surse autentice de inspirație pentru prezent și viitor.





Activitate de scriere pentru eBook (16–22 februarie 2026)
În această săptămână, fiecare elev a pregătit o pagină scurtă pentru eBook-ul colaborativ despre o femeie inspirațională. Pagina a inclus numele femeii, o scurtă biografie și câteva propoziții care explică de ce este o persoană inspirațională. Profesorii au colectat textele și au verificat nivelul limbii.

Crearea eBook-ului (23 februarie – 1 martie 2026)
În ultima săptămână, profesorii au combinat toate paginile realizate de elevi pentru a crea eBook-ul colaborativ. eBook-ul final, intitulat Women Who Inspire France, Türkiye, Italy, România Stories of Courage and Success, va fi încărcat și distribuit tuturor țărilor partenere.

  1. În cadrul proiectului Inspiring Women / International Women’s Day, elevii noștri au celebrat puterea, curajul și contribuția femeilor care au schimbat lumea.
    Prin activități de cercetare, prezentări și materiale creative, elevii au descoperit modele feminine din diferite domenii – știință, artă, educație, leadership – și au înțeles importanța egalității de șanse. Această activitate a încurajat respectul, aprecierea și recunoașterea rolului esențial al femeilor în societate. Prof. Mihaela Lungu
